Click here to get the latest news from Don Warren, our Good Shepherd "man on the ground" in Haiti.
We all have seen the horrible devastation in Haiti. Many of you have written me and rightfully asked, "What are we going to do?" So I am taking this opportunity to ask all of us: What are we going to do? What are you going to do?
First of all pray. As you see the pictures on TV pray that God would use this tragedy for His glorious purposes.
Secondly, we have a disaster fund that has been set up and already has some money in it for such horrific occasions. I am presently looking into the best way to use these funds to help the work underway on the ground. If you feel led to give you can make out a check to Good Shepherd and write "disaster fund" in the memo line or you can give on-line. This money will go to empower the Church at work on the ground.
Lastly, there is no question that nurses and doctors are needed immediately.
Others are needed as well. There will be needs for years to come. We would love to assist those of you who feel compelled to go by getting you together and figuring out how to get you where you are most needed.
If you feel compelled by the Lord to go, please reply to the Global Outreach Department:
jonathan.martin@goodshepherdcc.org
and we will connect you to others and do what we can to assist you. We are in correspondence with Medical Teams International at the present, and are looking for other leads.
Pray, Give, and Go. Give the Lord your heart and let Him take it where it should go.
